Montmartre 2012 – The grape harvest festival:

The unique Paris grape harvest festival (la Fête des Vendanges) is held on the Montmartre hill each year and it is a major event in Paris. In 2011, nearly 500,000 visitors came along during this five days festival. This large number of people ranks the Montmartre grape harvest festival at the third position among the events in Paris (after Paris Plage and les Nuits Blanches).

The 79th Montmartre grape harvest festival will be sponsored by the singer Anggun and the food columnist Jean-Luc Petitrenaud. In 2011, “Montmartre fête les gourmandises” was sponsored by the singer Jocelyne Bérorard (group Kassav) and the singer Laurent Voulzy.

The celebrations will take place in the whole 18th arrondissement of Paris from the 10th October 2012. Montmartre's vineyards - which name is "Le Clos de Montmartre" – (0.15 hectares) is property of the City of Paris and are managed by the town hall of the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The yield per hectare is an average of 33.5 hl/ha.
